What is Corios Academy?

• Corios Academy is a training site intended for professionals who use SAS for data analytics workloads and who want to learn how to apply what they know towards building data analytics on cloud platforms like AWS using open-source frameworks like Python and Spark.

How do I access the Corios Academy courses?

• Once you have been provided with your login credentials from your organization, the easiest way to get started is to select the first course, 0: Introduction to Corios Academy, from the course menu.

My log-in credentials don’t work. Who do I contact to re-set my log-in?

• You can reset your password from the login screen.

How many courses are included in the training?

• Nine: Introduction to Corios Academy, Analytics Design Patterns, SAS and SQL, SAS and Python, Data analytics tools on AWS, SAS and Spark, Analytics and Machine Learning on AWS, Creating a Data Lake in AWS, and SAS to Databricks.

Is there a limit to the number of times I can take the courses?

• No, but each organization has a time-based limit on their license.

Can I share my access credentials with fellow employees?

• No. Your organization licenses access to Corios Academy on a named user basis. We monitor your usage of the Corios Academy for concurrent logins and we reserve the right to revise your access to the Academy if you abuse the license.

Can my employer see my training progress and results?

• Yes, Corios provides a report to each organization on a periodic basis.

Will I earn a certification upon completion of the training?

• Yes, we provide you with a certificate upon completion of each chapter in the curriculum.

Who do I contact for questions or help in applying the lessons I learned in the training materials?

• Each organization can sign up for Corios Academy Office Hours as an extension to this training portal. Office Hours assigns a dedicated Corios specialist to your organization to help you apply what you’ve learned to specific use cases that you want to tackle, in addition to the training content on this portal. Will there be more courses in Corios Academy in the future?

• Yes! We’re writing new course content right now, and this will be added to the Academy in the near future.

Why did my employer sign me up for the Corios Academy training?

• Our client organizations know that it is essential to keep their team members fully capable of embracing the tools, techniques and best practices related to data analytics in order for the team member and the organization to be highly competitive in the market. The Corios Academy content also emphasizes great teamwork amongst your team members in order to encourage a healthy sense of exploration and also having fun while learning this new material.

Can I stop and resume a course lesson, or do I need to complete it in one sitting?

• The Corios Academy course content is self-paced. You can start and conclude your study sessions as it suits your availability.

Do I need to take the courses in sequential order?

• Yes. We have designed the courses in a specific order, as a set of building blocks. We’ve also locked down certain assets in the courses until you have demonstrated mastery of each step in the course order. Use the "Mark Complete" button in each course and lesson to indicate your successful completion as you proceed.

When I complete the courses, will my credentials expire?

• Your credentials only expire at the conclusion of the license for your organization.

Do Corios Academy lessons feature subtitles?

• Yes, closed captioning is available for each video in the course curriculum, per the CEA-708 standard.

Can I download the Corios Academy lesson material?

• No, Corios Academy is not available for download. All Corios Academy content is protected by our Copyright.

Do I need to buy any materials to complete the Corios courses?

• Some selected third-party content is curated and endorsed by Corios Academy as a part of our curriculum. A few of those selected content sources are available for a nominal fee, and usually for less than $100 per copy or course. In all cases, Corios either produces our own content, or when superior content is available from vetted and respected publishers, we select that content as long as its price is reasonable and well worth the investment. We use this same material to train our own team members.
